Future Conscious.

Undeniably digital is a rising form in Advertising, in particular, Social Media.

  • Currently there are 14 million Facebook users in Australia. Through these users, they are able to be targeted through gender, age, location, interests and behaviour.

  • A third of users online, use Instagram to express themselves and raise their social influence. Five million users are now on Instagram. It needs it’s own dedicated channel based strategy.

  • Twitter is not growing.

  • Snapchat is exactly what the younger generation are looking for and they are evolving and changing for the public’s appetite. They are keeping themselves relevant.

  • Periscope is rising in the digital world with it’s live streaming a success amongst it’s audience.

  • China’s version of Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp is WeChat.

  • Virtual reality has recently immersed providing amazing experiences through branded content using various social platforms. One is able to engage with the product without actually seeing or holding it. This new form is going to alter digital advertising as we know it to be.

Computer’s are used less now days with mobile the first screen of preference. Therefore, mobile needs to be the prime focus for advertisers. It also needs to be remembered to ‘fish where the fish are’ as there is so much data available. Ensuring the brand is looking into everything that is available is vital to forming a connection and identity. There are many channels, but don’t jump into every available. Focus on one and do it right.

Care must be taken in concern with the public becoming more concerned about their privacy. The care of ones data must be emphasised. Soon everything will be connected to the internet. A huge change is coming.

Undoubtable the digital world will grow even larger in the coming years and as advertisers we must be ever conscious of this.
